Money isn't fun
There are a lot of people in the world who have a negative relationship with money. They might enjoy earning and spending money, but it's a significant source of stress in their lives.
Games typically help relieve stress, but if your game carries an ongoing cost or financial risk to play, it can add to your players' real life stress. For this reason, GameFi and play-to-earn (though well intended) can actually harm the player experience.
Blockchain technology is forever tied to money, but that doesn't mean your dApp has to make money via token scarcity and cashing in on speculation.
You need to make money, but that should never come before your players. Design your business model so everyone wins.

P.S. This is why I like charging royalties on NFT marketplace trades in your game. You don't earn until your players earn.
